Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Learn 2 Putt.

Which devices and platforms are supported?

Putt measurement runs on iPhone, iOS 15 or later. It needs the rear camera and a way to hold the phone above the ball — a tripod, a phone mount, or anything else that keeps it steady pointing straight down.

The Android build targets Android 6.0 (API 23) or later. Its camera detector is designed and proven but not implemented yet, so Android cannot measure putts today. If that is what you are here for, wait for the iPhone release or get in touch and we will tell you when Android lands.

What does the app do with my camera and video?

The camera runs only while you are in a practice session, and the frames are analysed on your device as they arrive. Learn 2 Putt does not record video, does not save frames to your camera roll, and does not upload the feed anywhere.

What survives a putt is a small set of numbers — the ball’s path, the distance it rolled, the surface read, and whether it finished in the cup. The frames themselves are discarded as the session runs.

Is my practice history stored on a server?

No. Your session records, settings and trial reminder state are files on your device. There is no account to create, no email address to hand over, and nothing to sync — the app signs you in to an anonymous, randomly generated ID that is never linked to your name.

Being straight about the rest: the app does send anonymous usage events, and some of those carry practice measurements such as a rounded green-speed reading and how far a putt rolled against its target. They are tied to the anonymous ID, never to you. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent, to whom, and how to have it deleted.

How should I set the phone up physically?

Phone in landscape, on a tripod or propped steady. Above the ball, with the camera pointing straight down and your putting line running down the middle of the frame. A flat mat or practice green, in even light.

Outside that setup — phone in hand, a dim or steeply sloping surface, or a ball that leaves the frame — the app tells you it could not read the putt instead of guessing a number.

How do subscriptions, trials and restores work?

Learn 2 Putt starts with a free trial and then continues as a paid subscription; there is no permanently free tier. The price, currency, billing period and trial length shown in the app come from your own regional storefront, so the app shows you the exact terms before anything is charged.

Reinstalled the app or changed phones? Use Restore purchases in Settings with the same Apple ID or Google account. To cancel, manage the subscription in the store — Apple keeps it under Account → Subscriptions, and Google under Play → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open Settings in the app and choose Delete account and data. Step-by-step instructions, including what is removed and what has to be cancelled separately in the store, are on the delete your data page. If you have already removed the app and cannot reach that screen, email us and we will handle it.
